New DeviceAnywhere Monitoring™ Offers Long-Term Reliability, Compatibility and Quality-of-Service Scenarios for Mobile Content Providers on Real Handsets
San Francisco, October. 23, 2007 – Underscoring its commitment to providing the best in class end user experience possible, Mobile Complete, the leading provider of mobile testing, monitoring and support solutions, today introduced DeviceAnywhere Monitoring™, an innovative new service that allows content providers to set up 24X7 scenarios on real handsets, accessible over the Internet. DeviceAnywhere Monitoring is the newest module available on the DeviceAnywhere™ platform. The DeviceAnywhere platform helps developers during all phases of application development to ensure compatibility of their products across a wide range of handsets and mobile networks located across the globe.
“With the explosion of the Mobile Web has come an unparalleled demand for new and innovative mobile applications – in every category from productivity tools to games and social networking applications. Debuting a faulty application that leads an end user to a bad first experience can scare them away indefinitely,” said Faraz Syed, CEO of Mobile Complete. “By extending the DeviceAnywhere mobile development platform with the addition of DeviceAnywhere Monitoring, we’re offering developers and content providers a potent set of tools for ensuring that they deliver the best mobile experience possible to end-users every time.”
DeviceAnywhere Monitoring is offered in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model leveraging Mobile Complete’s publicly shared monitoring infrastructure across three locations in the United States. The service is initially available in the Unites States, and the company has plans to extend the offering to Europe and Asia in 2008. With the service, developers are provided easy-to-use desktop software that enables them to connect to more than 750 physical handsets. Users simply choose their handsets, and create and schedule their monitors. They can then immediately assess the viability of the applications they are developing, and:
• Easily create ad-hoc and repeatable scenarios with no restrictions; anything that can be scripted on a live handset on DeviceAnywhere Monitoring
• Immediately identify service-impacting events such as graphics rendering and issues around reliability and consistency of delivery
• Collect specific and actionable results and review them in real time
• Understand performance trends and patterns
• Perform competitive benchmarking including download time for competing applications across multiple networks
DeviceAnywhere Monitoring extends the DeviceAnywhere portfolio of benefits to add support for the post-launch phase of mobile development – namely, Quality of Service Monitoring. The DeviceAnywhere platform helps developers during all phases of application development to ensure compatibility of their products across a wide range of handsets and mobile networks located across the globe. The DeviceAnywhere family includes:
• DeviceAnywhere
• DeviceAnywhere Pro
• DeviceAnywhere Monitoring
• DeviceAnywhere Consumer
While DeviceAnywhere Monitoring officially launches today, companies such as Helio have already had the opportunity to utilize the service. “Helio is focused on giving our members access to the latest in mobile content and services,” said Doug Britt, vice president of content and communication services, Helio. “Mobile Complete has helped us deliver on this promise with a turnkey, on-demand service for development, testing and monitoring.”
Mobile Complete will be exhibiting its products and services at the CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2007 event in booth 1040 on October 23-25, 2007 at Moscone Center - South Hall in San Francisco.
